This is a line chart that shows the ranking of items over time, highlighting changes in position.
Use to display changes in rankings over time rather than absolute values. Label the axes clearly with the time period and items being ranked. Use colour to highlight specific items or trends of interest. Don't use if you have a lot of items to rank or when changes in rankings are minimal or insignificant.
