Dot chart; strip plot
Dots plotted along a single axis to show the distribution of data. Dots show the quantitative values (e.g. counts) associated with categorical variables.
'Jitter' dots (slightly shift them horizontally or vertically) if you need to avoid overlap. Consider using colour to highlight particular data points or groups. Don't use with large overlapping datasets or when precise values are important.
1. To display the distribution of survey responses on a likert scale.
2. To show how employees rate different aspects of their company's corporate culture.
