Frequency distribution chart
This is a bar chart that shows how often different values occur in a dataset. Each bar represents a range of values (e.g. 0-1, 2-3, 4-5), and the height of the bar shows how many values fall within that range.
Choose an appropriate number of ranges to balance detail and clarity. Label your axes clearly with units and value ranges. Don't use for categorical data or when you need to emphasise individual data points.
1. To show the distribution of employee tenure within a company — how many employees have been with the company for different lengths of time.
2. To visualise CEOs' confidence in their company's preparedness for a cyber attack rated on a scale, where each interval shows the frequency of each rating.
