Network diagram
Sociogram (for social networks); node-link diagram; hyperbolic tree; mind map
This is a diagram that shows the relationships or connections between different entities, using nodes to represent the entities and lines to represent the relationships. 'Undirected network diagrams' only display the connections between entities, and 'directed network diagrams' have arrows that show whether the connections are one way or two way.
Nodes are usually drawn as dots or circles, but you can also use icons. Avoid clutter by limited the number of connections, and consider clustering any nodes that are related. Use node size and colour to represent additional variables such as importance and category. Don't use this chart if your network is too dense or complex, because it becomes too difficult to identify individual connections.
