Pictorial percentage chart

Alternative name:

Pictorial stacked chart

This is similar to a pie chart, but it uses icons or symbols to represent percentages of a whole.

Tips for use and when NOT to use

Use icons that are easily recognisable icons and are relevant to the data. Make sure that the scaling of icons accurately represents your percentages. Don't use if the data doesn't involve easily representable percentages or if you need to make precise comparisons.

Use case / Examples

1. To show the percentage of employees who take part in different company-sponsored wellness programs.
2. To use icons to show the percentage of employees who feel their company is adequately addressing workplace mental health issues.
