Pyramid chart
Triangle chart
This is a chart that's shaped like a pyramid, showing hierarchical levels and their sizes. It's similar to a funnel chart, but inverted. It represents data as portions of a 100% (the individual segments add up to the whole).
Use for hierarchical data with clear levels. Label each level clearly and consider using a color gradient to represent different values. Don't use if your data isn't hierarchical or if there are too many levels, because it can become visually overwhelming.
1. To show how business leaders progress from awareness of sustainability initiatives to implementation.
2. To show the hierarchy of factors influencing employee engagement — from basic needs (compensation, job security) to higher-order needs such as self-actualisation.
How would you categorise your company in terms of its approach to innovation (laggard, follower, challenger, leader)?
